Map accounts with your partners

Compare your accounts with a partner's to find the ones you share and the ones that are new, without either side handing over a full list.

Before you begin

  • A vendor login with permission to see Account Mapping. It is in the left menu, and it does not appear without that permission or if your plan does not include the feature.
  • A partner that is already in Airstride, with a contact who has signed in at least once. A request cannot be sent to someone who has not.
  • Your account list, as a CSV file up to 10MB or from HubSpot, Salesforce or Attio. You can share customers, open opportunities and prospects, or only the lists you have.
Step 1

Start a session

Open Account Mapping from the left menu and choose Initiate mapping. On a partner's own page, the Account mapping tab has a button to start a session with that partner already chosen.

The wizard has three steps: Setup session, Data source and Map fields. First give the session a name, such as the partner and the quarter. Then search for the partner and choose a contact at that partner. Choose Proceed.

Next choose where your data comes from. CSV upload takes a file you upload. CRM Synchronisation reads your connected CRM. With a CSV you say which lists you are sharing, and you can add one, two or all three.

  • Customer: companies already buying from you.
  • Active opportunity: live deals in your pipeline.
  • Prospect: companies not yet buying from you.

You can also upload one file with an Account Type column instead. Choose Download template for a starter file.

  2. Pick the partner and a contact at the partner who has signed in.
  3. Choose Proceed.
  4. Choose a data source: CSV upload or CRM Synchronisation.
  5. For a CSV, add the lists you are sharing.
  6. Choose Proceed to match your columns.
Step 2

Map fields and send the request

Airstride reads your file and maps its columns to its own fields for you. The Map fields step lists each Airstride field with its status, Mapped, Not mapped or Invalid data, and the column it is matched to. Change any that look wrong. Required fields are listed apart from optional ones.

When you are happy, choose Save & send request. A short wait follows while Airstride processes your data, and then you are asked to confirm in Send Mapping Request. The dialog tells you what happens next: your partner contact is notified, Airstride matches both datasets automatically, and you see Exact, Probable and Possible matches.

Step 3

What your partner does

Your partner contact gets a notification that you sent a mapping request, with the session name. Opening it shows New Mapping Request, with who it is from. They can Accept and share data or Decline request. A declined request cannot be undone, and you are told.

Accepting opens Share account data. They choose a data source, map their own columns, and choose Submit. A partner can pull from its own CRM only if its role allows CRM integrations, and otherwise uploads a CSV file.

While you wait, the request shows a timeline and a status, such as Pending response, Mapped, Declined, Expired or Cancelled. Open it to cancel the request if you need to. When matching is done, the partner's page changes from Upload pending to Mapping completed.

  6. Airstride matches both lists and notifies both sides.
Step 4

Read the results

Open the session and choose View matches. The top of the page counts what Airstride found.

  • Exact Match, Probable Match and Possible Match: accounts both sides have, graded by how sure Airstride is.
  • New ICP Opportunities: partner accounts that fit your ICP and that you do not have.
  • Unmatched partner accounts: partner accounts that matched nothing.

The Matches tab lists each shared account with its match status, the owner on each side and when it was last updated. Choose Register deal on a row to register a deal from the match. Download CSV exports the list. ICP opportunities lists partner accounts that fit your ideal customer profile and are new to you, each with a fit label of High, Medium or Low. Not matched lists your own accounts that found no partner counterpart.

An overlap grid shows how many accounts of each type you share. If the results look wrong, open the more actions menu and choose Re-run mapping.

What each side sees

Neither side sees the other's whole list. You see your own accounts, the matched accounts, and partner accounts that are new ICP leads for you. Your partner sees the matched rows and, if you allow it, its own accounts that did not match.

Where to go next

Common questions

Does my partner see my whole account list?

No. A partner sees its own accounts that did not match, if you allow it, and the rows that matched. It does not see your unmatched accounts. Your own unmatched accounts are listed under Not matched, and they are not shared with your partners.

Do I see my partner's whole list?

No. You see your own accounts, the accounts you share, and partner accounts that fit your ICP and that you do not have. You can turn the last of these off, in which case you see matches only.

What do Exact, Probable and Possible mean?

They grade how sure Airstride is that two accounts are the same company. A row also shows why it matched, for example a domain match, a similar domain or a name match.

Which CRMs can I map from?

HubSpot, Salesforce and Attio. Other CRMs you can connect to Airstride are used for other things and are not offered as a mapping source. You can always upload a CSV file instead.

What if my partner does not respond?

A request that is not answered expires, and the partner sees This request has expired. You can cancel a request yourself while it is open. Cancelling cannot be undone, and your partner contact is told. Then start a new session.

Can I run a session again?

Yes. Open the more actions menu on the session and choose Re-run mapping. The new results replace the old ones, and both sides get the results email again.

Where do I change how strictly accounts are matched?

On the account mapping setup page, which the gear icon on the Account Mapping page opens. Matching strictness is Strict, Balanced (recommended) or Loose, and a change applies to your next run.
